World War Z is a American action movie that is loosely based off of the book World War Z. The movie was made by Paramount Pictures. The move was released in June 21, 2013. The movie was banned in China. The theatrical cut of the flim was censored due to the Paramount Pictures wanting the movie to appeal to teens and family's. The theatrical cut toned down the violence, digitally removed blood and cut some scenes in order to reduce the runtime.

Chinese Censorship

  • The movie was banned in China due to the movie showing zombies, and due to the actor Brad Pitt being in the movie.

International Censorship

  • The scene that shows a cop being hurtled through the air was shortened.
  • The scene that shows Constance looking like she is scared was cut.
  • The scene that shows the truck moving around the cab was cut.
  • The scene that shows the truck hitting a cab was cut.
  • The scene that shows the truck's driver steping on the break was cut.
  • The scene that shows the truck's breaks not repsonding was cut.
  • The scene that shows the truck hitting 4 cars was cut.
  • The scene that shows the bald walker was modified for the theatical cut. In the theatrical cut the scene is blurry and it is hard to make out any detials, in the unrated edition it shows two zombies behind the bald walker.
  • The scene that shows Constance looking like she is scared was shortened.
  • The scene that shows a Female walker running towards the guy in the car was shortened.
  • The scene that shows zombies trying to break the windsheild was shortened.
  • The scene that shows a zombie bitting a human was cut.
  • The scene that shows a zombie breaking into a car that has a woman inside it was cut.
  • The scene that shows the zombies attacking Gerry was cut.
  • The scene that shows one of the zombies bitting a human was cut.
  • The scene that shows Gerry discoving a young man with a pistol was modified for the Theatrical release.  The theatrical cut does not show the dead man that is behind Gerry.

Where to find it uncensored

The unrated edition is completely uncensored.
