Tokyo Ghoul is a Japanese horror-action anime that was produced by Pierrot and released on Tokyo MX. The initial Japanese broadcast was censored due to local network restrictions regarding violence on TV during certain hours. The censored version was then sent to international anime streaming services such as Crunchyroll. (though the uncensored version did eventually start streaming on the service.) The show was also banned in China. The English dub toned down some of the strong language.
