The Sims 4 is a life simulation game developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. The video game was released for Windows in North America on September 2, 2014. Expansion packs for the game have been censored in international markets.

Censorship[]

International censorship[]

Some content from the Snowy Escape expansion pack was censored due to sensitivities of Asian nations that had previously been occupied by Japan, especially South Korea.[1]

  • Sims can not bow at shrines.
  • The Rising Sun pattern on some clothing was removed.

Russian censorship[]

  • In Russia, the game was released under an 18+ rating (adults only) due to presence of same-sex relationships. The My Wedding Stories expansion pack, which allowed for same-sex marriages, was not released in Russia due to laws against "gay propaganda".[2]

Where to find it uncensored[]

There is no playable uncensored version.
