The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is a high fantasy movie that was produced by Warner Brothers. The film was released on December 1, 2014. The film was censored worldwide with the runtime being shortened and some violent scenes being cut. The violent scenes were cut in order to get lower age ratings for the film. HBO Max usually only streams the censored theatrical version.

  • The fight between Thranduil and Dain was shortened in order to reduce the violence.
  • The scene that shows Legolas beheading a number of orcs with his daggers was cut.
  • The scene that shows Legolas sticking a dagger through Blog's hand was cut.
  • The scene that shows Legolas turning his dagger in Bolg's head was cut.
