The Darkness is a first-person shooting video game that was developed by Starbreeze Studios and published by 2K Games. The video game was released on June 25, 2007, in order to be released in Germany the game had to be censored.

- Blood was mostly removed.
- Pools of blood was removed.
- Blood on the walls was removed.
- The Darkling's attacks no longer cause any enemies to bleed.
- Enemies who die due to fire attacks no longer have burned skin or burned clothing once they die.
- Ragdoll effects was removed.
- Ripping out enemies hearts was modified for the German release. In the German release you can not see any blood and there are no damage textures on the enemy.
- Gore was removed.
