Shazam! Is an American Superhero movie created by DC that was released on April 5th, 2019. When it aired on Cartoon Network's Acme Night programming block for movies on September 19th, 2021, some edits were made to censor strong language and alcohol references. Violence, moderate language (such as "douchebag"), and suggestive references were all kept in.

USA Censorship[]

Cartoon Network[]

  1. The scene where Thaddeus's dad says "You miserable, whiny piece of shit!" was modified for the Cartoon Network broadcast. In the broadcast version the word "Shit" was dubbed over to "Snot".
  2. The scene where a man in the street says "Nice outfit, dipshit!" was modified for the Cartoon Network broadcast. In the broadcast version the word "Dipshit" was dubbed over to "Dimwit".
  3. The scene where Shazam says "I'd like to purchase some of your finest beer, please." was cut along with the shots of the clerk looking back and forth between him and the beer. The discussion about Fake ID's right afterwards was kept in, along with them drinking the beer and spitting it out.
  4. The scene of Shazam and Freddy on the stairs shortly after the robbery was cut out, likely due to one use of "dick" and a reference to criminals being on drugs.
  5. The scene where Freddy says "No shit, you think?" was modified for the Cartoon Network broadcast. In the broadcast version the "No shit" part of the line was cut out.
  6. The scene where Freddy says "Shit" after Shazam fails to show up to school was modified for the Cartoon Network broadcast. In the broadcast version the line was cut out.
  7. The scene where Thaddeus enters Freddy's home was cut out, likely due to his line "what a shithole" during the scene.
  8. The scene where a mall Santa drops a bunch of (bleeped) f-bombs on a news broadcast was cut out, likely for language.
