Reservoir Dogs is a third-person shooter video game based on the 1992 film of the same name directed by Quentin Tarantino. It was developed by Volatile Games and published by Eidos Interactive (now a part of Square Enix). It was released in Europe on August 25, 2006.

Censorship[]

Australian censorship[]

The game was banned in Australia due to high impact gory violence. At that time, there was no 18+ rating available for video games.

German censorship[]

The game was put on the Index (BPjM) for extreme violent content, making it illegal to sell in Germany.

New Zealand censorship[]

The publication was given an Objectionable label, making it illegal to export, sell, or possess the material. The game was banned because the Classification Office found that the publication "tends to promote and support the infliction of extreme violence and extreme cruelty…for the purpose of entertainment".

The BBFC incorrectly claims in their case study that New Zealand did not have a restrictive 18+ rating for computer games at the time. New Zealand gave an R18 classification to the highly controversial game BMX XXX back in 2002.

Where to find it uncensored[]

It is available everywhere else uncensored, including in the UK, despite objections from the police and MPs.
