Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain is an action adventure game, that was developed by Quantic Dream and was published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game was released for the PlayStation 3 on February 2010. Due to sexual content, violence and nudity, the game has been censored or banned in some countries. It is censored in Japan because of CERO's rating guidelines.

Japanese censorship

• All nudity was censored.

Main Game

• The scene that shows Ethan taking a shower was modified for the Japanese release. In the Japanese version the camera zooms in on Ethan's head, and back. As a result you can no longer see Ethan's butt.
• The scene that shows Madison walking towards the shower was modified for the Japanese release. In the Japanese version the camera zooms in on her back. As a result you can no longer see her butt, or her breasts.
• The scene that shows Madison taking a shower was modified for the Japanese release. In the Japanese version the camera zooms in on her head. As a result you can no longer see her breasts.
• The strip club scene was modified for the Japanese release. In the uncensored version the player can take Madison's bra off. In the Japanese version it is impossible for the player to take off Madison's bra.
• The scene that shows Ethan and Madison having sex was modified for the Japanese release. In the Japanese version the scene fades to black after they kiss.

DLC

• The scene that shows Madison opening a door, that leads to a crime scene was modified for the Japanese release. In the uncensored version you can move the camera, and see the crime scene. In the Japanese version the camera zooms in on Madison.

Saudi Arabian censorship

• Deception IV: The Nightmare Princes was among 47 games that were banned in Saudi Arabia due to unspecified violent content after a 12-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl had allegedly committed suicide after participating in an online "Blue Whale" challenge.

United Arab Emirates censorship

• The game was banned in the United Arab Emirates after the National Media Council declared it "unfit for audiences".

Every other country has it completely uncensored.
