First Samurai is a beat em up video game that was developed by Vivid Image and published by Kotobuki.

The game was released on September 1991 for the Amiga and Atari ST.

This page focuses on the censored SNES port, which was subject to Nintendo's strict content policies at the time.

  • The scene that shows a close up on the master lying in a pool of his blood in the intro was cut
  • The scene that shows a far away shot of the master lying in a pool of his blood was modified for the International release.
  • Blood on the sword in the title screen was removed.
  • Opponents were made into monsters to avoid having you kill humans.
