Fifty Shades of Gray is a romantic film that was produced by Focus Features, Michael De Luca Productions and Trigger Street Productions and it was distributed by Universal Pictures. The film was released on February 9, 2015. The Theatrical release was somewhat censored worldwide (possibly due to rating concerns), a unrated edition would later release. Peacock streams the censored version of the film. Due to protests from religious group the Philippines censored the film. Due to the film's graphic sex content it was banned in a number of countries.

  • The scene that shows a close up on Ana in her underwear was modified for the Theatrical release. In the Theatrical version the next shot shows a close up on Christian's face while in the unrated version it shows a close up on Ana's upper body as a result in the Unrated version you can see her breasts.
  • The scene that shows Christian and Ana having sex was shortened.
  • The scene that shows Ana blindfolded was modified for the Theatrical release. In the Theatrical version it is zoomed in on her face instead of a farther away shot as a result you don't see her breasts.
  • The scene that shows a close up on Ana blindfolded was modified for the Theatrical release. In the Theatrical version the close up zooms in more on her face which causes you not to see Ana's breasts.
  • The scene that shows Christian licking Ana's nipple was replaced with a close up on Ana's face.
  • The scene that shows Christian moving his hand down to put on the condom was cut.
  • The scene that shows Christian striking Ana again was cut.
  • The scene that shows Christian striking Ana another time was replaced with a close up on Christian's face.
  • The scene that shows the whips smacking Ana's gentile area were replaced with shots of her face and of her stomach.
  • The scene that shows Christian pulling his pants down was replaced with a shot of his backside as a result you no longer see his part of his dick and you no longer see his public hair.
  • The scene that shows Ana climaxing was replaced with a more "harmless" shot of Ana and Christian having sex.

  • The film was banned.

  • The film was banned in the North Caucauses region.

  • The version released in the Philippines removed all of the sex scenes.

  • the version released in Zimbabwe removed all of the sex scenes.
