Dressed to Kill is a thriller movie that was produced by Cinema 77 / Film Group and distributed by Filmways Pictures. The film was released on July 25, 1980. In order to obtain a R rating, the film had to be censored for the North American release. An unrated edition would later be released that is uncensored. HBO Max mostly uses the unrated version. However, some of the R rated censorship is used and HBO Max says the movie has a R rating.
